Piergiovanni Genovesi

Piergiovanni Genovesi teaches Contemporary History and History of Contemporary Europe at the University of Parma. He chairs the Parma Committee of the Institute for the History of the Italian Risorgimento. He is the scientific coordinator of the Hemera 1918–1922 project. The everyday memory of the World War in the early post-war period in Italy, the PRIN2022 CHILD project – Children and everyday life in the Italian post-war period (1918–1922) – and the Research Group for History at the University of Parma. At the publisher MUP (Monte Università Parma), he edits the series of contemporary history studies ‘extravagante’.
His publications include: (co-author) Nation, Nationalism and Schooling in Contemporary Europe (Bad Heilbrunn, 2022); Parma 1914-1918. Vita quotidiana di una città al tempo della Grande guerra (Parma, 2018); Il manuale di storia in Italia. Dal fascismo alla Repubblica (Milano, 2009).
